In every package you supply the words and the photos. Domain registration and hosting are paid by you, directly to the provider, so they are always in your name. Ongoing maintenance is not included unless you add it.

How it works
Four steps from first call to launch.
Intake
You fill out a short questionnaire about your business, your customers and what the site should do.
Deposit
We sign a plain agreement and 50% of the package price is due. Work begins once I have your words and photos.
Build and review
I build the site and you review it, with the rounds of changes your package includes.
Launch
The remaining 50% is due, the site goes live, and you get a handoff sheet listing every account and who holds it.
How I work

The price is agreed first
The scope, the price and the number of revision rounds are written into the agreement before any work starts. Anything extra gets an estimate before I do it.
You own it
Once the final payment is made, the design and the content made for you are yours. Your domain, hosting and Google accounts are set up under your own name.
I never ask for your passwords
For Google Business Profile work you add me as a manager on your own account, and you can remove me the day the job is finished.
You deal with one person
From the first call to launch day, the person you talk to is the person building your site.

Hufford Works is one person in Dix, Illinois.
I'm Chris Hufford. I work from Dix, a few miles north of Mount Vernon, and I build websites for local businesses that don't have one yet, or have one that no longer does the job.
What you get from me is a clean site that loads fast, reads well on a phone, and tells a customer what you do and how to reach you. No jargon, no long contract, and a price you know up front.

What do I need to give you?
Your logo if you have one, the words for each page, your photos, and your business details: address or service area, phone, email and hours. The Custom packages include light editing of the words you send. The timeline starts when I have everything.
Are the domain name and hosting included?
The fees are not. You pay the domain and hosting companies directly, so the accounts belong to you and not to me. With Custom and Custom + SEO, I connect the domain and hosting for you.
How long does it take?
Usually two to three weeks from the day I receive all of your content. If content or feedback comes later, the finish date moves by the same amount.
How do I pay?
Half before work begins and half before the site goes live. I take PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, cash or check.
What if I need changes after launch?
You can add optional monthly maintenance for $50 to $100 a month, or ask for one-off changes at $50 to $75 an hour. There is no required monthly fee.
Will my site be first on Google?
Nobody can honestly promise that, and I don't. The Custom + SEO package does the groundwork that helps Google find and understand your site: page titles, descriptions, a sitemap, Search Console and your Google Business Profile.
